The product marketing manager is responsible for preparing and setting up support system to presales and sales. It can include:
- Product training
- Preparation of required artifacts to support sales process including, preparation of a Sales Kit.
Sales kit shall typically contain presentations, brochures, demo kits, FAQs, battle cards, references, videos etc. In some special cases it can also include standardized list price and associated approval procedures for discounting to address any opportunity and associated pricing.
For effective sales process, we need to have the presales and sales team trained on the product/IP solution to have effective discussions with customers. Sales team training can be done through webinars, presentations/demos, etc. Also provide sales with access to various collaterals/materials at a central repository.
Product management shall be part of presales/sales process on need basis, especially when there is a need for product expertise in customer discussions.
